What Your Teen Actually Walks Away With After an EMDR Intensive:
✔ A calm, regulated nervous system – they learn how to feel safe again, not just tell themselves they’re fine
✔ Relief from racing thoughts – that constant mental spiral gets interrupted and replaced with clarity
✔ Emotional stability – they walk away with tools to manage stress, overwhelm, and change without shutting down
✔ A clear sense of self – instead of “what if I fail,” they begin to believe “I can figure it out”
✔ Confidence – rooted in actual coping skills, not fake-it-‘til-you-make-it advice
✔ A reset before college begins – a chance to unload the emotional baggage now, instead of carrying it with them into dorm life
Learn to Handle Big Changes Without the Meltdowns.
because college is hard enough without anxiety running the show.

WHAT IS EMDR?
EMDR is a powerful, research-backed therapy that helps the brain process and release stuck emotions — especially around anxiety, stress, or past experiences.
EMDR helps teens feel more confident by targeting the root of their anxiety — not just the symptoms. It clears out the negative beliefs like “I’m not ready” or “I can’t handle this” and replaces them with healthier, more empowering thoughts. As their nervous system calms and those old thought patterns shift, they start to feel more capable, grounded, and ready to face challenges — which naturally boosts their confidence.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the 8 phases of EMDR —
and how each one helps your teen feel more in control.
FAQs
-
Therapy Intensives are more effective and efficient than normal 50-minute therapy sessions. Typically in a 50-minute session, there are at least 5-10 minutes of “check-in” at the start of the session and usually, 5-10 minutes spent on “closing up” or “checking out” at the end of a session - Leaving only 30-40 minutes for deep therapeutic work. Therapy Intensives are different. A 2-hour Therapy Intensive allows for the full 2 hours of depth work. That’s the equivalent of five 50-minute sessions or more than a month of therapy - in a single day!
-
If your teen is struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, or emotional regulation and needs more than traditional weekly therapy, an intensive can provide focused support and faster progress. During the initial consultation, we’ll determine if this is the best fit.
-
Every teen is different. Some see significant progress in just one session, while others benefit from multiple intensives. We’ll discuss your teen’s specific needs and create a plan that works best for them.
-
Absolutely! Therapy Intensives work very well as an adjunct therapy. I would ask that you sign a Release of Information so that your child’s current therapist and I can collaborate/coordinate to best serve you.
